Goats can be bred back within 4-6 weeks after kidding while kids from the previous batch are still nursing. They can and will come back into heat during these periods, even while still nursing.
If your girls don’t go back into heat in 18-21 days, just make sure they get enough minerals, vitamins, and hydration.
However, if you don’t want them to be bred back then take out your buck from there.
I prefer my goats be given at least 6 months if not one year to recouperate from the last pregnancy. But, you can breed earlier if you have no issues with continual breeding. It really comes down to your preference.
How Soon After Kidding Can A Goat Be Bred?

When is the First Heat After Kidding?
Ours always come in heat about 4-5 weeks after kidding. That way we get exactly two sets of babies from each doe a year.
Two simple tricks that works are:
- Keep bucks next to them after 2-3 weeks after they kid, and the buck tells us when to put them in.
- Take the baby away from the momma for 34 hours at 2 weeks of age and the doe will come in heat and can be rebred.
