Are you looking for a small subwoofer to pair with AudioEngine A2+ for desktop music? Then look no further!
You should check out the Pioneer SW-8MK2 Andrew Jones Designed 100-Watt Powered Subwoofer, Dayton Audio SUB-800 8-Inch 80 Watt Powered Subwoofer, Polk Audio PSW10 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer, and MartinLogan Dynamo 300 Home Theater and Stereo Subwoofer.
All of these are more than satisfactory. If I wanted to spend on the high side of this list I would lean towards the AudioEngine S8, MartinLogan or the Pioneer by Andrew Jones, an exceptional loudspeaker designer.
Best Subwoofer for Audioengine A2+ and A5+
When it comes to talking about Sub, it cannot be too powerful. A great sub has controls that allows adjustment.
The A2+ features connections for the sub as long as the sub has a level control, polarity switch, and cutoff frequency.
Audioengine S8 250W Powered Subwoofer, Built-in Amplifier (Black)
The Audioengine S8 is sonically correct and ready to go BOOM BOOM BOOM!!! It will definitely overkill if used for car crashes or bomb blasts.
This thing handles bass like its nothing. I love the way it handles pipe organ, low registers, stand-up bass, some weird woodwind and more.
It’s really a gem for its price point. And if you want to ROCK… You neighbors will pay homage to you. With the middle finger, that is (Hahaha) unless of course, they are well prepared to take on the BOOM!
Optionally, you could dial it down a bit and simply set it to stun. Or you can turn it up to 11 and send them scattering satisfying.

Acoustic Audio PSW-8 300 Watt 8-Inch Down Firing Powered Subwoofer (Black)
The Acoustic Audio PSW-8 Down Firing Powered Subwoofer is an amazing choice for a moderate sized room when setup correctly.
It’s audio and build is high quality, body is well built, and is a heavy duty home [12″] subwoofer!
Acoustic Audio also has subs from 8″, 10″ and goes up to 15″.
I went for the 15” (inch) woofer sub and haven’t regretted it ever since. It’s ability to carry low frequency sound whether you’re watching a movie or listening to music is really an experience!
It does however pack a great punch (when needed) and the sound mixture is truly amazing.
The immersive sound quality is great! I’m loving the experience too.
It comes with everything a subwoofer would have and has a super nice wood finish.
No matter you sophisticated taste (from a simple listener to the advanced audiophile), you’ll be amazed by its quality.
Polk Audio PSW10 10″ Powered Subwoofer – Power Port Technology, Up to 100 Watts, Big Bass in Compact Design, Easy Setup with Home Theater Systems Black
This quality product is from a reputable brand and it produces fantastic, deep, thundering sound on my home theater system.
It has an excellent response time too and give you the thrill of “being there” when I play first-person-shooter-games on my PS5 (COD: Ghosts is still my favorite!).
It has power/volume knob to turn it down until the bass matches your need (gaming vs. movie. Vs. music etc). DO NOT allow the 50 watts RMS spec deter you or fool you into thinking this thing is underpowered… IT IS NOT!

Klipsch Reference R-10SW 10″ 300w Powered Subwoofer (Black)
I switched out the PSW10 for Klipsch R-8SW and I couldn’t be happier. The sound is way much cleaner and better than the PSW10.
I discovered that after prolonged use, the bass becomes a little middy on the Polk. The Klipsch although smaller, produces every bit the bass of the PSW10 and more. So far so good. The R-8SW is a down firing sub.
Dayton Audio SUB-800 8″ 80 Watt Powered Subwoofer
This sub is really good. I have owned two for years now and it still kicks them low frequencies like a boss. Response is tight too.
Setup is simple and is able to sculpt your lower end to your liking with the crossover and gain. It looks good too no matter where you place it. The price is really affordable too!
These are all the best subwoofer for Audioengine A2+ you’d ever buy!
